This is my second time around on this course. I find it to be better than the last time I took it. The book that was chosen was very boring to me. However, I find this book right up my ally. Her descriptions of her childhood can come out of any one's.
Getting feed back from my fellow students is refreshing. The comments have helped my writing and thinking process. Some times we all need a second pair of eyes for all of our assignments. I am very luck that my Uncle was a editor of a local paper. So, if I should need any assistance he is there with a colored pencil and writing notes in the edges.
Having you Eileen, giving me feed back is also paying off. Since the last time I have taken this class I feel that my writing has improved greatly. And you are right' that when you are given negative remarks you do better, and most cases I feel very accomplished for doing so. I am enjoying this blogging it helps me think off the cuff and think hard of what to say. Going back to school at 44 is not as easy as the others might think. Each writing style has changed, I never heard of a rubric, let alone APA or MLA format. So writing in a blog is very different. Remember, I came form the generation of typewriters and we just did footnotes and no headers and never cited work. We just gave the quotes in quotation marks and stated the facts. So, thank you to all who read and comment on my work. It definitely helps keep it coming!!!
Alicia,
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you, I think the feedback is extremely beneficial. It helps to hear other people's criticisms and perspectives. And you're right, it is always helpful to get a second pair of eyes for everything.
